Friends of Ispin

Kanathar, Marcus, and Macho, as pretenders,
deceived Wheelwatch Outpost’s draconic defenders.
With surprising advantage they sprang to attack,
Karyon, Gilbert, and Raven had their back.

Marcus and Kanathar, in dragon army gear,
strode toward the outpost without a sign of fear.
With Macho as their prisoner, who acted quite irate,
they tricked their hated enemy, who opened up their gate.

Marcus attempted a “band of brothers” speech,
but his grasp of oration was just out of reach.
His intentions were nothing but noble, of course,
it might have worked better if he weren’t on a horse.

Macho went to Bakaris to give him a report,
on the latest plans to retake the Wheelwatch fort.
Bakaris encouraged Macho in his devious capers,
and told him to look out for any important papers.

For Gilbert to cast spells, components are a must,
he needed a small lock and a bunch of gold dust.
A kender, Meulara, had these in her stock,
so that’s where he bought his gold dust and small lock.

With only two days to prepare there was no time for stalling,
by night Macho Mage would train the men in backyard brawling.
By day they’d train with Marcus learning how to use their spears,
they hoped with these new fighting skills they’d overcome their fears.

Raven briefed the Kalamaniacs on her latest quest,
to retake Wheelwatch Outpost would be a daunting test.
With ten unskilled militia men her plan would surely fail,
but if the Kalamaniacs would help, they might, just might, prevail.

Marcus honoured Kiri-Jolith in both word and deed,
and due to that he earned the right to call a paladin’s steed.
A horse appeared and looked to be a most impressive mount,
an intelligent, strong and loyal beast on whom he’ll surely count.

At the dockside funeral a voice hails Macho,
and from out of the crowd comes his brother, named Nacho.
But Titarr took his life with a lightning bolt,
and gave it back to Kanathar, who awoke with a jolt.

Kalaman’s mourners made rainy march to a humble city square,
to view the statue of Kanathar newly erected there.
